The second flop came out 9♥7♣K♣, leaving the smaller stack who was about even on the session in a world of hurt. But he’d pick up a small amount of equity with the J♦* on the turn, and this is where the hand went a little crazy.
“I kiss you if a 10 comes, I swear to god. I get up and I kiss you,” Mike X told legendary HCL dealer “Magic” before the 10*♣* appeared on the river to complete the straight.
Begging for a specific card worked for Mike X, who wasn’t just bluffing when he vowed to kiss the dealer for a 10. He ran around the table to give Magic a big smooth.
Mike X would finish the session up $20,400, essentially the amount of half the pot he won on the final hand. Britney, however, took a $172,900 loss during the game. Her session would have been a bit less brutal had she dodged the bad beat.
